Q: What happens if the conditions are bad (such as 8-foot waves), and I cannot get out on the scheduled date for my charter?

A: We would re-schedule your booking on the closest convenient day for you, or in some cases if nessessary, refund your deposit.

Q: You say you guarantee fish. What happens if we do not get any fish on our charter out with you?

A: It is rare that clients of Surely Fishing Guide Services do not catch fish, however, in the event that poor conditions provide a poor day on the water without any fish, we still collect the full funds at the end of the charter, but will take you out again on the closest convenient date for you at no charge.

Q: Can you take large groups out on charters?

A: Yes. We can accomodate large groups with several boats. Please inquire within for more details.

Q: Should I take some food and drinks for my charter?

A: It is up to you. Most people pack a lunch for a full day on the water, and we recommend at the very least some water, or non-alcoholic beverages.

Q: Can I take along some alcohol or pot for my charter?

A: No. Alcohol and non-prescription drugs are illegal to take on the charter, and prohibited. Only prescription drugs, if necessary, should be taken on board.

Q: Is it possible to catch different species in a single charter?

A: Yes. At certain times of the year on the Lower Niagara River, it is possible to catch a variety of fish species, such as steelhead (rainbow trout), brown trout, lake trout, salmon, walleye, bass, white bass, white perch, yellow perch and coarse fish to name a few.

Q: I get sea sick easily in rough water, should I take along some motion sickness pills?

A: Yes. Sometimes the Great Lakes can be rough, and something for motion sicknes is recommended. It would be a shame to be feeling ill when your friends are reeling in fish!

Q: Do you offer trips right through the winter, and if so, what can I catch?

A: Yes, we offer day trips all year round. The Lower Niagara River has excellent fishing for steelhead, lake trout and brown trout starting in November, and lasting throughout the winter until June, when other species become more prevalent, such as bass, muskie and walleye.
